NEW: JUPITER in Capricorn goes Retrograde on Fri. May 9. and Mars moves into sunny Leo the next day. MERCURY will go Retrograde on May 26 so get important communications out of the way before then. The good news is that SATURN in Virgo went Direct May 3, but as much as we needed that, the earth is apt to give up a few global upheavals and surprises until we get our act together.

ELECTION: John McCain is a Virgo with a Capricorn Moon. Saturn is in Virgo for the next two years but will conjoin his natal Sun in July which may raise health issues. He must be sure to get plenty of rest this summer. On Election Day, Saturn will be on his natal Neptune opposing his natal Saturn in the 4th House which is a very difficult transit in that he will be able to see through any illusions he may not even have known he had.

Barack Obama is a Leo ( Moon in Gemini) On Election Day Saturn will be on Obama's natal Mars in the 11th House ready to trine natal Saturn in the 4th. This will be testy period for him. Ego clashes and tensions can erode vitality. Even so, he will be able to view whatever happens philosophically and see the good in it.

Hillary Clinton is a Scorpio with a Pisces Moon. On Election Day, Saturn will be in her 10th House of Career making a 60-degree angle to her natal Venus soon to oppose the 4th House of the Home. We are going by Mountain Astrologer's time of her birth) This can be an isolating period for her as she assesses what relationships are worth stabilizing and which relationships have to go.

JUPITER IS IN CAPRICORN UNTIL the first week of 2009. Expansive Jupiter feels restricted and more serious in Capricorn. Jupiter is the essence of expansion while Saturn is reserve and contraction. Money may come in one door and out the next. So be prudent and cautious and strike a balance..

OVERVIEW 2008

Although 2008 will be dominated by the primaries, the election, and turbulence in the world, electibility and service are the key issues that will apply to us all.

Our own "getting ahead"is on the line. Jupiter will be in Capricorn all year with Pluto accompanying.( Pluto is still there whether we want to call it a planet or not.)

Our need to step up a notch and follow opportunities is fine but expect delay and backtrack. It will seem as if we are stepping back in some area at the same time we are moving ahead. Still we do move ahead.

We are also being asked to remove the rose colored glasses and replace them with ones that offer practical street-smart perceptions. Our modus operandus will have to change. Look in a strictly practical direction. Jupiter and Saturn won't have it any other way. No effort is ever lost. We learn best when we take note of what we neglected to do."You can't pick the tomatoes you didn't plant."

The next two years are dominated by Saturn in Virgo. We could become workaholics during this period. Interestingly 2008 is also the Chinese Year of the Rat, commencing on Feb. 7, 2008.
